WHO WE ARE

Cereal Growers Association (CGA) is a national non-profit member-based farmer organization incorporated in August 1996. Its main purpose is to bring together commercial cereal farmers to promote collective action for the sustained improvement of their farming enterprises and in addressing industry challenges in Kenya.

WHAT WE DO

Technical Services

This pillar focuses on CGA offering top-notch training and capacity building to members, fostering the adoption of effective agricultural practices for higher production, productivity, and profits. It includes advisory services, customized training, demonstration sites for agricultural innovations, and peer-to-peer learning exchanges.

Representation Service

The Association advocates for agribusiness-friendly policies through evidence-based lobbying and research, amplifying members' voices.

Economic Service

This pillar ensures efficient cereal supply chain management for members, offering bundled services such as input procurement, finance, output markets, and more. The services cover the entire agribusiness process, facilitated through Business-to-Business (B2B) and Business-to-Customers (B2C) Forums.

Information Services

This pillar provides information for data-driven farm management, offering timely insights to support cereal farm, financial, and supply chain management

Over the past 12 years, CGA has implemented a range of program activities resulting from partnerships in the donor community, government bodies and several players in the grain and agricultural sector in general.

Farm to Market Alliance(FtMA)

An initiative spearheaded by the UN World Food Programme (WFP) through a consortium of end-to-end value chain actors comprising of AGRA, WFP, RaboBank, Yara International, Syngenta and Bayer.

STRAK

The project is funded by IKEA foundation through Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA). It is being implemented by Cereal Growers Association (CGA) in Kitui and Makueni Counties. The project spans from May 15, 2022, to October 15, 2025.

TRANS-AGRI

The main focus of CGA-Fert partnership is institutional development and organizational strengthening with the aim of enhancing service delivery to CGA members both at the County and National level.

SMAPIP

CGA and Bayer EA continues to support smallholder farmers in the improvement of their agricultural productivity as well as commercializing their production. In a new phase dubbed Kenya Smallholder Productivity Improvement Project (Kenya – SMAPIP)

Kenya Agribooster Project (KAP-OCP)

The project seeks to contribute to improved food security through improved crop productivity and enhanced access to structured markets for smallholder farmers.

Acorn-Agroforestry

Acorn project aims to help 30,000 smallholder farmers transition to agroforestry.

CSV Maize

The ‘CSV Maize’ project aims to promote sustainable production of maize while building resilience to climate risks and addressing the barriers to youth and women's inclusion in the maize sector in Kenya.

AABFIM

This project aims to improve nutrition by enhancing consumption of bio-fortified crops in schools and the community by establishing sustainable markets for HIB.
