Status Active / Ongoing

The Farm to Market Alliance (FtMA) is an initiative spearheaded by the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) through a consortium of end-to-end value chain actors comprising the following global members: the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA), RaboBank Group, Yara International, Syngenta and Bayer. The interventions under FtMA are aimed at unlocking crop value chains in order to enhance the participation of smallholder farmers through increasing their marketable surplus thereby improving their livelihoods.

The project is also being implemented in Zambia, Rwanda and Tanzania.

FtMA’s objective is to enable sustainable food systems through strengthened markets to empower farmers to increase their yields, income and resilience and to improve global food security. This will be achieved by creating an inclusive environment throughout the food value chain supported by appropriate policy and investment in hard and soft infrastructures.
