The ACORN project aims to help 30,000 smallholder farmers transition to agroforestry, which supports livelihoods and combats climate change, land degradation, and food insecurity. The initiative also aims to generate high-integrity carbon removal units (carbon credits) as a secondary benefit.

The overall goal of the project is to improve farmers’ livelihoods through increased yields, nutritional benefits, climate resilience, diversification of income streams, and carbon sequestering.

Key Objectives

  • Increased yields through agroforestry integration
  • Nutritional benefits from diversified crops
  • Climate resilience through tree cover and improved soil health
  • Diversification of income streams for smallholder farmers
  • Carbon sequestering through high-integrity agroforestry systems
