The Cereal Value Chain Development Project (CVCD) is supported by the French Development Agency (AFD) in partnership with FERT. FERT is a French association for international cooperation for agricultural development in developing and emerging countries.

The partnership focuses on improving cereal farmers’ income and livelihood with two specific objectives:

  • Improving membership services performance
  • Strengthening Cereal Growers Association (CGA) as an apex farmers’ organization

Target Beneficiaries

High potential commercial farmers including large scale, medium and small commercial farmers.

Target Value Chains

Maize, wheat, barley, sorghum and assorted pulses.

Geographic Coverage

Nakuru, Narok, Uasin Gishu.

Further, CVCD has supported a study aimed at improving CGA’s service offering strategy.
