CS Agriculture Dr. Andrew Karanja and CGA Discuss Priority Areas for the Cereal Sub-Sector

The Board and Management of the Cereal Growers Association (CGA) paid a courtesy visit to Cabinet Secretary Dr. Andrew Mwihia Karanja, responsible for Agriculture and Livestock Development. During this engagement, the parties explored priority areas of improvement in Kenya’s cereal sub-sector.

The discussions addressed key topics including access to viable markets, contract farming, research and development, and a supportive taxation regime. The CGA delegation included Board Chairman Stephanus Kruger and CEO Anthony Kioko.

It was agreed that broader consultations involving other stakeholders will continue in efforts to realise sustainable revitalisation of the grain sub-sector — reflecting a collaborative approach to advancing Kenya’s cereal production and value chains.
